i'm sorry that i've been tardy with my movie reviews but seriously, i'm hooked, lined, and sunk in love with the tv series.
i have in mind to do a review on Shame by Michael Fassbender and perhaps Sherlock Holmes' Game of Shadows by Robert Downey Jr. not to forget, my Casino Royale review is also left in drafting stage.
i'm just plain tardy- eh wait, i'm just staying true to this blog's nature, Slow-Pokey! So sabo je la ek :sheepish grin:
it's heartwarming to note that SlowPokey is growing with me, day by day. there are a few categories added. and we are over 2,000-ish mark. so, to make it clearer, here are the descriptions for the Label:
Just Notes - anything worth mentioning about Slow-Pokey and me. Previously it was labeled as Musings.
Muvi Pact - movies that i promised to review. Jenuh nak mengabihkannya!
Suggestion - a post inviting viewers to suggest any related movie that they request me to review it
TSM - a post commenting any similar fact noted by me. it could be about actors/actress/storyline.
that's all. keep coming here for more Slow-Pokey-ish movie reviews :)
i've been actively reviewing films this month and posting it on Slow Poke. so it wasn't a surprise to note that viewership for the last month had risen to be a 4-digit number.
that much, huh?
thanks for dropping by and showing your support. perhaps you'd like to drop comments or going the extra mile by being a follower to this blog.
by the way, it's interesting to note that the following pieces hold the top number 3 spots as the post with most views:
the Clash of the Titans
Zoolander
the Adventures of Tintin
hmmm, mash-ups of different genre. and again, i invite your suggestions for any movie that you would like to appear here. i swear, i'll try to do it less slowpoke-ish :)
... TSM or in its original language: Pelanduk Dua Serupa.
this is simply a Malay simile to describe 2 person who is a spitting image of each other.
i was watching Jeremy Renner in the Ghost Protocol and was acutely reminded of Daniel Craig in Casino Royale.
which prompted me to watch Casino Royale again, for the sake of another Slow-Pokey post. and made me somewhat impatient for the Avengers film to come out on the Net, JR is cast as Hawkeye in the movie.
yup, one of the reasons for my tardiness in reviewing fresh-from-the-oven movies is that i'm not allowed to go to the cinema to catch up on the latest flicks. i had to settle by waiting oh-not-so-patiently for the DVD version to be available on the Net.
me = LAME.
anyway, back to TSM, i had this uncanny feeling that these 2 guys are sort of look alike. perhaps they should be cast as brothers?  hollywood people, do take note!
yup. i'm too chicken a person to watch Session 9 or Identity or any slasher movie worth mentioning here.
instead of mustering my courage up to watch spooky movies, i wondered about doing a James Bond's movie review. i particularly love Casino Royale. and Goldeneye's theme song is my old time favourite.
i finished two lengthy movie reviews for this month and was surprised to see the jump in the viewership stats for the post on the Tintin movie. it was a significant increase and made me wonder, perhaps Tintin has turned into a cult movie, better accepted with time.
hmm, so any other suggestion? i'm putting Alice in Wonderland on my rerun list and also hoping that i manage to finish Something Borrowed. Ginnifer Goodwin and Mia Wasikowska are fast becoming my next fave actresses :)
talking about cult movie with GG in mind, i am reminded of her counterpart in He's Just Not That Into You, Justin Long.. and thinking of JL, i am further reminded of JL's cult movie, Accepted. wah! long list to fulfill, non?
for the umpteenth time, i watched Jane Eyre, the 2010 version with my fave actor, Michael Fassbender and Mia Wasikowska.
one of the main draws of the film, aside to the fact that i love the (abridged version of the) book, was the timbre rich voice of Mr Edward Rochester Fairfax. especially during the scene where he confided to Jane:
"I have a strange feeling with regard to you, as if I had a string somewhere under my left ribs tightly knotted to a similar string in you. And if you were to leave I'm afraid that cord of communion would snap and I would take to bleeding inwardly."
anyway, is it possible for me to like the story immensely just because i'm a fan of MF and yet not to be blinded by the mistake the director did by giving us a misdirection?
the moment Jane Eyre accepted the proposal, they were acting so intimate (as far as the period in concern), kissing all over the place, in public. which brings me to wonder, how could JE be so easily carefree with her affections and kisses as it was the only time she ever knew love? for sure Lowood school where she lived her life in Christian-strict environment. i should have thought that she would be more reserved..
or am i being a prude?
by the way, i've been waiting for this movie to come out. it is KIL by the name and features my fave Malay actor, Redza Minhat. perhaps due to the sensitive issue carried in its theme, the movie didn't come out at all as promised last year.. hmmm, enjoy the trailer though:
up date: it's coming out in March 2012. let's see..
blame it on "Friends with Kids", i'm totally smitten with Adam Scott. oh wait, blame it on Kristen Wiig, the guys in her movies, before were unnoticed, after were da BOMB! in a great way definitely :)
i was slow-pokey again on "Leap Year". but i guess you guys will wait for it. i assure you that both of these two movies are a fave on the night when you just want a feel-good romantic story to warm your toes in a good way.
anyway, do a bit of waiting for me ya :)
he's 38 by the way, married with two kids. looks so young kan? even michael fassbender who is 34 by the way, looks much older. anyway, umm, YUM!
which reminds me, i haven't done any ground work on "Jane Eyre" and "X-Men: First Class" yet! arghhhh.. so slow-pokey betul!
i've been dragged away from blogging (and watching movies) due to truckloads of work. mind you, i'm looking forward to this upcoming weekend so freakin' much.
i managed to peek at "What's Your Number" and my interest is piqued. will definitely jot on it soon !
anyway, does any one of you wish to request a movie review? just put it in the comments section ya~
but don't worry, we'll have a few movies review soon. any suggestion on any particular movie that you want me to review? pls drop in your suggestion, ya..
