Shame: something to ponder

i'm deeply sorry for not updating this blog for a long while. the last film i watched was Shame, in patches though. i relied a lot on wikipedia's review as not to violate my modesty with all the explicit scenes here and there.

but the thing is, the story is rather Equus-like - exploring why people do what they did, in the name of personal fulfillment. one thing i learn about this movie, with such hedonistic overload, at one time, you start to stare at the facts of how bleak your life is and no matter how successful you are at your work, the lust-driven life make things incomplete. you are incomplete.

for a positive note, perhaps instead of following your whims and desires all the time, maybe you should pause and turn to religion as your salvation in order to not be the lust-slave. Shame doesn't preach of these enlightenment, it was of my own, but it is befitting. people wonder about their soul, of what does it do to people. to me, the soul is your conscience talking, influencing you of the path to take, of the decisions to make.

btw, we reach 10,000 mark today, YAY!

let's hope that i have more passion to write and more movies to review. till then, da!

Just Notes # 6 : the Reasons why I don't write

i haven't been actively reviewing movies lately. i guess, it is a sabbatical thingy. i'm too invested in the writing process, particularly when it involves my favourite actors/actresses.

sure, during the last week, i've watched "the bridesmaids", "horrible bosses", "TLOTR: return of the king", "never been kissed" and etc. some of the stories struck a very deep cord inside and i haven't been able to write anything worth reading. besides, "Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham" keeps collecting cobwebs as we speak.

and i kept reneging upon my promise to watch Michael Fassbender's "Shame" (and write a review)... :sigh:

looking at his tortured self pun dah bikin tak sampai hati. how will i endure the full film?

kan?
update:

emm- no way i can watch and review "Shame". if i do, i would be so much aSHAMEd myself. so there. sorry but no can do.
